Reducing Global Flaring – Taking the Lead (Part 1)

Posted on October 25, 2019March 17, 2020

In his recent commentary on ‘The Oil Industry and Public Perception’, Hamish Wilson puts forward a clear and coherent message – we (our industry) must do more to curb an evolving public perception of itself, before irreparable damage is caused. This follows his earlier commentary ‘Should the Oil Industry Lead or Follow’, which makes the case that activism and policies are already constricting financing options for IOCs.

We concur that as an integral part of the economy, our industry must work alongside and become one with the renewable industry to effect the energy transition while continuing to drive economic growth.

At MFDevCo, we are setting out to achieve just this and believe that sustainable change is possible not only through taking action now, but through relaying similarly coherent messages both from our industry and by encouraging/through responsible journalism.
