Carbon waste from flaring can come about from a variety of different activities and circumstances. The quantities of gas associated with individual fields are specific to the reservoir fluids, the emissions associated with a project are a direct product/result of the chosen development strategy.
Many projects are still permitted to flare associated gas in line with their original and approved development plan. Some flare the remaining dry gas once NGLs have been stripped out, and others continue to flare simply because the government has taken no measures to prohibit it.
MFDevCo has identified Gas2Wire candidates in each of these categories. Those which flare >12MMscfd individually or that may be combined with other nearby streams are our priority targets, as this can be used as the feedstock for a 60MWe gas turbine generator.
