Countries such as Nigeria continue to take steps that will reduce flare volumes, but in other areas volumes are increasing. For instance, flaring and venting in the US Permian Basin has doubled since 2015. A common factor is a lack of access to an export route (no commercially viable route to market). Installing power cables for a Gas2Wire project is a relatively low cost and straightforward process, and once ashore power can be routed into local/regional grid networks.
MFDevCo is always on the look-out for projects. We aim to cut flaring/venting and utilise an otherwise wasted resource, placing us at the forefront of the global energy transition and a cleaner2greener™ future.
